At long last, Hasbro (via Hero Complex) revealed this years SDCC exclusives for the Transformers brand. To prepare for the 30th anniversary of Transformers there are three exclusives, all available at the HasbroToyShop booth and at HasbroToyShop.com in limited quantities after the show. The exclusives are:
The Transformers Titan Guardians
This exclusive is a G1 inspired set of limited articulation action figures featuring Optimus Prime, Grimlock, Soundwave, Starscream and Megatron. Each one of these figures has a G1 sculpt and coloring.
Shockwave’s Laboratory
This Beast Hunters inspired set features a G1-deco’d Beast Hunters Shockwave, a translucent Commander Class Predaking figure and a laboratory diorama.
Metroplex
The final Transformers SDCC figure is a special edition of Metroplex. Featuring some deco and chroming differences from the retail edition, this special con-exclusive set will include 12 miniature Autobot and Decepticon figures in addition to Legends-scale Scamper. As of the writing of this article, there are no details on these additional minifigs. Stay tuned for more details and pricing for all these exclusives.
In addition to these exclusives, two panels for the Transformers panels were announced, one for the toys (including a preview of the Thrilling 30 figures) and the other focused on the animated Beast Hunters series and upcoming ‘Predacons Rising’ movie.
