Toy Fair 2012 – JAKKS Pacific – Train World, Monsuno and more

Just a few last topics to wrap up my visit to the JAKKS Pacific showroom at Toy Fair. Up first is Monsuno; a new toy line featuring action figures, accessories, combat sets and role play based on an upcoming animated series. The animated series will be debuting in the states Feburary 23 on Nicktoons.

Also featured in the JAKKS Pacific booth was their new ‘Train World’ line, a small scale train line targeted for kids (and adults) too old for Thomas and the like, but not ready for an expensive collector’s train set. The basic engines run on batteries, and cost just $10. A full range of track and accessories will be available so your train system can be expanded. This was one of my favorite things on display in the JAKKS booth, the trains are nicely detailed and ran well.

And wrapping up the booth were their latest Pokemon toys – based on the black and white version of the game, Spy-Net toys – the 4 in 1 binoculars and metal detector are new this year, Scatter Brainz – gummy tipped darts which feature character art on the body making them collectible, new Smurf movie and classic Smurf product, the Big Wheel gets reintroduced to a new generation (also made 100% in the USA), and finally a Walking Dead video game. Based on the plug and play hunting game, this allows you to step into the Walking Dead world and shoot zombies. Very cool.
