Today, New Wave, the industry leader in recreating ’80s-era arcade hits through its line of premium RepliCade collectibles, announced that 1942 X RepliCade is now available. This officially licensed, miniature version of Capcom’s 1984 arcade classic is fully playable and includes the same attention to detail that New Wave fans have come to expect. It’s available now on NewWaveToys.com for $149.99 for US and Canadian residents.
The 1942 X RepliCade is a 1/6-scale mini arcade cabinet faithfully modeled after the original 1984 Romstar / Capcom lowboy machine and contains both 1942 and 1943: The Battle of Midway games designed by Yoshiki Okamoto. The RepliCade features a Japanese-style diecast metal coin slot, customizable DIP-switch and cabinet settings, added HDTV connectivity, and a bonus 1943 Mini Arcade Stick for simultaneous two-player gameplay in 1943.
New Wave is dedicated to recreating the authentic arcade experience with its line of premium collectibles, all of which replicate the features and vintage feel of the arcade machines we grew up with, in 1/6-scale. The 1942 X RepliCade edition comes complete with authentic wood cabinet construction, illuminated marquee and cabinet accents, and a premium LCD color screen in 3:4 aspect ratio (vertical orientation). This RepliCade follows previously released cabinets including Asteroids X RepliCade, Dragon’s Lair X RepliCade, and Street Fighter II: Champion Edition X RepliCade. A special 1943 X RepliCade Overhaul Edition will launch at a later date.
