Back at New York Toy Fair I had the chance to stop by Enesco’s impressive showroom on the Javit’s Center floor. If you’re not familiar with the Enesco brand, they make great gift items from some of pop culture’s best brands. From Disney Princesses to DC Comics, from Peanuts to Harry Potter, Enesco makes all sorts of gift products including mugs, goblets, decorative statues and even brand driven Christmas villages. The folks at Enesco were kind enough to send a few items to the AwesomeToyBlog HQ and today we’re taking a look at the Harry Potter Hogwarts Decorative Goblet.
The packaging for the goblet is just dripping in Harry Potter, with the logo predominantely featured on all sides of the packaging with a Harry Potter themed newsprint covering most of the box. The front and the back of the package features product photography of the goblet and the front includes the wonderful wizard himself, Harry Potter. Overall the package presents the product very well and is steeped in theming.
Out of the box, the goblet stands a little over 7 inches tall and has a 3½ inch diameter. The goblet holds 12 oz of liquid in it’s brushed metal cup. The body of the goblet has the look of stone with the Hogwarts crest repeated four times around the goblet. The goblet is adorned with several small gem decorations which do a good job of breaking up the dark ‘stone’ color and suggest a jeweled chalice. The goblet itself is deceptively light, weighing less than a pound when empty. It looks like it should weigh significantly more. Of course, this is a good thing as it really helps make this goblet something even the youngest of Harry Potter fans can use – with correct supervision, of course. It is important to note that some care is needed when cleaning the goblet. It is not dishwasher safe, requiring a brief hand washing without soaking the Goblet.
Overall, the Harry Potter Hogwart’s decorative goblet is quite nice featuring a great amount of ‘in-universe’ detail, which maintaining a high degree of functionality. You would want to bust this out for your Harry Potter movie marathons and enjoy your favorite beverage in style. If you’re looking to pick this up you can check your local gift shops, AwesomeToyBlog sponsor Entertainment Earth, Amazon and other fine retailers. And, of course if you’re a member of one of the houses you can choose from Gryffndor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin.
