A new quest has begun for gaming enthusiasts. The premiere lifestyle brand for tabletop games, Rollacrit.com, is launching the retail version of their groundbreaking new pun-tastic dungeon exploration tabletop game, Heroes of Barcadia, with an onslaught of special exclusives, events, game demos, and more at this year’s Gen Con, August 3rd thru 6th in Indianapolis at the Indiana Convention Center.
Backed by over 13,700 people in a 2021 Kickstarter campaign, the unique liquid-life system gameplay of Heroes of Barcadia (for two to six players), pits heroes from all across Barcadia to claim glory in the realm’s greatest drinking competition; players battle monsters and bosses to collect Power-Ups with mystical abilities. Nice guys finish last in this fast-paced, ever-changing, party game for fantasy and beverage connoisseurs alike.
For the first time, Rollacrit steps out onto the Gen Con show floor with its own booth (#1749) and the retail version of HoB! They will have some special offers such as a exclusive “Con Crud” Monster Tile with a purchase of the game and a “Hangogre Bundle” which includes all of the items for HoB (aside from the T-shirt and plush) for $275.00 (valued at $326.00). There will be a game demo area at the booth, one at the Gen Con demo area, and one at Nevermore Union Station a few blocks away from the convention center for those interested in learning how to play HoB.
But the fun and special offers go beyond the Rollacrit booth, in association with Hunters Entertainment and Backerkit, gamers can take a short five-minute walk from the convention center to the Nevermore Union Station (a multi-room restaurant complex) for a free entry special themed Heroes of Barcadia Beer Hall complete with beer hall-style wooden tables and Heroes of Barcadia Characters roaming the floor; snap a photo with them and share it with the hashtag #HeroesOfGenCon! There will also be Barcadian-themed food and drink (Rollacrit Radical Street THAC0s and Barcadia Blitzer anyone?) Those who want to immerse themselves in gameplay and have a place to relax outside the business of the con floor, you will be able to play Heroes of Barcadia while enjoying refreshments in the Nevermore Heroes of Barcadia area and hang out with the Rollacrit crew from 11am to midnight Thursday to Saturday.
For industry insiders, Saturday night from 8pm to 1am at the Hunters Ragnarock Rage Stage on the rooftop of Nevermore is a private, invite-only party produced by Hunters Entertainment in association with Rollacrit and Backerkit. It will offer game designers, developers, product companies and others the chance to mingle, share ideas and build working relationships. The party will include food, drinks and live music.
Heroes of Barcadia was born from an inspired idea, then after a successful Kickstarter and fulfillment, is now in its retail release. But Rollacrit hasn’t stopped there. Another chapter has begun with the company’s launch of their next Kickstarter project, the resurrection and revamp of the Bag of Holding; like Frankenstein’s monster, Rollacrit tore it apart and built it stronger. The Rollacrit team has put some solid time into research, development, and magic and is now ready to bring the bag into the 2020s with a new and improved Bag of Holding. It’s bigger, stronger, customizable, and more holdier than any of its predecessors. At the Rollacrit booth, fans can sign up to be the first to be notified when the Kickstarter goes live and see samples of the bag.
As with previous Years, Rollacrit is also back again as the official merchandise partner for Gen Con 2023.
