In October, Fathom Events brings two frighteningly fantastic films—GHOSTBUSTERS and ALIEN — back to the big screen nationwide, giving audiences a special pre-Halloween opportunity to scream, laugh – or both – at two audience-pleasing classics.
First up, on Sunday, October 6, and Thursday, October 10, heed the alarm, race down the pole and celebrate the 35th anniversary of GHOSTBUSTERS. Paranormal activity is never funnier than GHOSTBUSTERS and its endearing cast of humans, including Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson, and iconic ghouls. In the summer of 1984, it became a pop-culture phenomenon.
So, get slimed, search for The Keymaster, and conjure up this classic during a two-day only presentation of GHOSTBUSTERS, which includes a new introduction plus rarely seen alternate takes from the film’s most famous scenes.
Then, on Sunday, October 13, Tuesday, October 15, and Wednesday, October 16, head into space, where no one can hear you scream. The terror of director Ridley Scott’s science-fiction/horror masterpiece comes back to movie theaters for its 40th anniversary.
Working from a screenplay by Dan O’Bannon and a story by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett, ALIEN is a film dripping in dread. Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt, Veronica Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton, John Hurt, Ian Holm and Yaphet Kotto are the crew members of the Nostromo, which investigates a mysterious signal coming from an unknown planet. When they unwittingly take an alien creature aboard the ship, they have no idea just how terrifying—and deadly—the ordeal will be.
Moviegoers can search for local cinemas via zip code and purchase tickets either for ALIEN, GHOSTBUSTERS or both at FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. Please note, some select theaters may not be participating in both events.
