River Horse Games’ Terminator Tabletop Game Kickstarter Wrapping Up April 30th

River Horse Games and Lynnvander Studios have teamed up to create an exciting new board game, Terminator Genisys: Rise of the Resistance, based on Skydance’s feature film Terminator Genisys. River Horse and Lynnvander Studios combined their extensive experience in publishing and game design to bring fans the ultimate Terminator board game, illustrated by award-winning artist Steve Argyle, best known for his work on Magic: The Gathering and Legend of the Five Rings.
With just under a week left in it’s Kickstarter campaign, the game, set in 2029, will be a four-player cooperative adventure, where you play as the remaining forces of humanity battling against the near unstoppable forces of SkyNet. The game features loads of highly, detailed miniatures, including your favorite heroes and their robotic counterparts. With a variety of interlocking tiles that form the game board, as well as a series of missions that string together to create a major story-driven campaign, players will struggle to outsmart the most powerful artificial intelligence in history, all in a desperate scramble for survival.
Join Kyle Reese and John Connor fighting for the future of mankind. Players will do everything from rescuing prisoners to dealing with infiltrators, from gathering weapons and supplies to taking part in the final assault against SkyNet’s secret weapon, The Time Machine.
“With Lynnvander behind the mechanics and development combined with Steve’s incredible talent in illustration, we’re excited to create a unique and stand out product,” says project lead Criz Jamers of River Horse Games. “From what we’ve seen so far, this game really feels like you’re up against SkyNet in 2029”
“We’ve been working on this game for months and this I.P. is a favorite for us at the studio,” says designer Thomas Gofton of Lynnvander Studios (Buffy the Vampire Slayer the Board Game and Dragon Ball Z: The Board Game Saga). “The team has focused on making this game as challenging as is it fun to play”
“The Terminator world has fascinated me since I was 12-years- old, and being a part of continuing its legacy is living a dream,” explained Argyle. “The incredible team that has
poured their enthusiasm and expertise into this game is inspiring. I’m so excited for the world to play it!”
