It’s been a big day for Doctor Who news – in addition to the SDCC announcement from Underground Toys; word came out that Big Chief Studios would be releasing a line of 1:6 scale Doctor Who figures and diorama pieces as well as 1:4 scale statues. The licensing agreement includes both the new series and classic Who, however their initial product offerings will include the Doctor (Matt Smith) and his companion Amy Pond (Karen Gillan). Both figures will be fully articulated for maximum poseability and will feature authentic hand-painted character portraits, finely tailored costuming, signature accessories and themed display bases. To complete the first wave, other popular characters including Rory Williams and River Song will be released. There are no details on the expected price-point of these figures or any teaser images.
