Takara-Tomy Releasing Dead Masterpiece Optimus Prime

To celebrate the year 2010 (coincidentally the year that Transformers:the Movie happens in Japanese continuity) Takara-Tomy has decided to release a special edition of Transformers Masterpiece Prime.  This time up, we’ll see Optimus Prime from the scene of the movie where he dies.  As you remember, Optimus passes and turns grey as he drops the matrix into Hot Rod’s hands.  You can see Takara-Tomy’s webpage dedicated to dead Optimus here.  Of note is that this version of Masterpiece Prime includes the trailer – this time in clear with black detailing.  This piece should be about $250, and available later this year.  Props to Takara-Tomy for coming up with an interesting release!
