Eaglemoss’ NYCC Star Trek Plans Include Exclusives and Debuts

Eaglemoss Collections is winging its way into Booth #1520 at New York Comic Con with a host of exclusives and never-before-seen starships that’ll have generations of Star Trek fans beaming.

In fact, it was overwhelming fan demand that persuaded Eaglemoss’ resident Star Trek expert, Ben Robinson, to start the production of the U.S.S. Aventine NCC-82602, making its U.S. debut at NYCC. Available for purchase as a bonus edition separate from the bestselling Official Star Trek Starships Collection, the Aventine is a Vesta-class Federation starship featured throughout the Star Trek: Destiny series of novels. Under the command of Captain Ezri Dax (from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), its crew of 750 engages the Borg toward the end of the 24th century.

The Aventine joins the U.S.S. Titan NCC-80102 as the only officially authorized Star Trek starships produced by Eaglemoss with their origin in Star Trek literature. Both will be on display and for sale at Eaglemoss booth #1520.

While there, fans will be among the first to get a glimpse of the mega-sized Enterprise NX-01, the fourth starship to join Eaglemoss’ line of XL Editions, along with the third quartet of Star Trek shuttlecraft, including Starfleet Office Complex Travel Pod 05 and a Space Dock Work Bee (both seen in Star Trek: The Motion Picture), the Argo shuttle from Star Trek: Nemesis, and the Type-11 Starfleet shuttle seen in Star Trek: Insurrection. Plus, there may also be a surprise appearance of two of the most eagerly anticipated new ships to join the Star Trek pantheon. All ships are under license by CBS Consumer Products.

On display and available for purchase will be the legendary Deep Space Station K-7, the spiritual ancestor to Deep Space Nine and the scene of many “tribble-ations” depicted in Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Finally, fans will be able to get closer to completing their own Official Star Trek Starships Collections with a wide variety of models on display and available for purchase – as well as Volumes One and Two of Star Trek: Designing Starships, plus full-scale replicas of Starship Dedication Plaques.

As part of their celebration of New York Comic Con, Eaglemoss has also launched its “Winner Take All Giveaway!” One Grand Prize winner will receive over $350 in Eaglemoss collectibles selected from the Star Trek, DC Comics and Alien & Predator universes while nine First Prize winners will receive their choice of one those bundles. Over 50 years ago, the world was first introduced to what would quickly become a cultural phenomenon. It was a television series that inspired developments in science and technology, broke social barriers, and transported viewers around the globe to new adventures and uncharted frontiers. This fall, STAR TREK: DISCOVERY follows the voyages of Starfleet on their missions to discover new worlds and new life forms, while learning that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself.

Cast members scheduled to appear include Sonequa Martin-Green, Jason Isaacs, Doug Jones, Shazad Latif, Mary Wiseman, Anthony Rapp, and James Frain alongside executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Gretchen J. Berg, Aaron Harberts, Heather Kadin and Akiva Goldsman. The panel will be moderated by series guest star Rainn Wilson, who will appear as “Harry Mudd,” the charismatic conman and intergalactic criminal that was first introduced in the original “Star Trek” television series. The newest edition of the Star Trek franchise will premiere in the U.S. on CBS All Access Sunday, Sept. 24, following a broadcast premiere on the CBS Television Network. Saturday, July 22nd; Ballroom 20, 2:30PM.

Entertainment Earth and Bif Bang Pow! Announce SDCC Exclusive Talking Spock Bobblehead

No other Star Trek character embodies the franchise as much as Mr. Spock does. From The Original Series to the “Kelvin timeline” of the recent reboot movies, Spock’s presence and influence is inescapable. The half-Vulcan is one of Star Trek’s most insightful and eloquent observers of the human condition.

At San Diego Comic-Con 2017, celebrate the life and legacy of both Spock and the actor who brought him so memorably to life, Leonard Nimoy, with the debut of this resin Star Trek: The Original Series Talking Spock Bobble Head – Convention Exclusive from Bif Bang Pow!.

Standing 6-1/4 inches tall (excluding his Starfleet delta-shaped base), this Convention Exclusive presents the man Captain Kirk called “the best first officer in the fleet” as he appeared in Star Trek: The Original Series, in his blue sciences officer’s tunic and black uniform trousers.

Nimoy’s likeness is unmistakable, as is his voice. Each push of the figure’s button activates one of six sound clips from the show: “Transporter room, ready to beam up”; “Insufficient facts always invite danger” (from “Space Seed”); “Vulcans never bluff” (from “The Doomsday Machine”); and the signature Spock sayings, “Fascinating,” “Highly illogical,” and “Live long and prosper.”

Limited to an edition of only 1,500 pieces, each Bif Bang Pow! talking bobble head is individually numbered with the production run number on a holographic sticker.
The first opportunity fans can grab this individually numbered and limited-edition exclusive will be at San Diego Comic-Con on July 20, 2017 in the Entertainment Earth booth (#2343)!

“Star Trek” 50th Anniversary Collector’s Edition Beer “The Trouble With Tribbles” Nationally Launches at “Star Trek Las Vegas”

star_trek_combadge Following the incredible debut of Star Trek Golden Anniversary Ale: The Trouble With Tribbles at Comic-Con International in San Diego, Shmaltz Brewing Company boldly goes to the “Star Trek Las Vegas” convention at the Rio Hotel & Casino from August 3 – 7, 2016. The national rollout of Golden Anniversary Ale: The Trouble With Tribbles is now underway to 25 states across the country, including California, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington, and many others. At Comic-Con, Golden Anniversary Ale: The Trouble With Tribbles received critical praise from news outlets such as CNET, Nerdist, Eater, and countless others; as well as the brewery’s hometown Albany, NY ABC affiliate station News 10.

This summer and fall, Star Trek celebrates its 50th Anniversary and Shmaltz captures the TV show’s indelible spirit that so many science fiction fans have come to love over the last half century. With The Original Series debuting on NBC in 1966, Star Trek has grown to become the #4 all-time movie franchise broadcasting in over 200 countries and grossing $2.4 billion all-time sales at the box office. CBS Studios has teamed up with Shmaltz Brewing for the only officially licensed Star Trek beers in the United States.

Trekkies attending “Star Trek Las Vegas,” Golden Anniversary Ale: The Trouble With Tribbles will be available at the Rio Hotel & Casino, The Rebel RePUBlic (3540 W Sahara Ave), The Millennium Fandom Bar (900 S Las Vegas Blvd), Lee’s Discount Liquor locations throughout Las Vegas, and Shmaltz will host a special press tasting event on August 3 at the American Bar & Grille within the Rio Hotel & Casino. Please RSVP for the tasting event directly to press@jpcutlermedia.com. In fall 2016, Shmaltz brings their second Star Trek Golden Anniversary Ale: Voyage to the Northeast Quadrant to “Mission New York” at the Javits Center from September 2 – 4, 2016.

Star Trek Golden Anniversary Ale: The Trouble With Tribbles (5 Malts, 5 Hops, 5% ABV)
In the original Star Trek series episode “The Trouble with Tribbles,” the U.S.S. Enterprise is called to protect a shipment of a genetically engineered four-lobe grain that is a hybrid of wheat and rye, called quadrotriticale. Since the year 2269 is still about 250 years in the future, Quadritriticale has yet to be conceived. Thus, Shmaltz brews with triticale for Golden Anniversary Ale: The Trouble With Tribbles.

The first commercial release by Drew Schmidt (Shmaltz Lead Brewer), the longtime Shmaltz brewer comments about the beer, “Light Carastan malt gives some residual sweetness in the form of very light toffee. A dose of Munich adds a slight bready quality, and wheat malt lends to a slight crisp character. Mashing at a moderate temperature gives this beer a medium body. In keeping with the intergalactic theme, hopping is comprised of Comet, Polaris, Aurora and Admiral (Kirk) hops. This beer is only loosely filtered to clarity, in order to preserve the ambiguity of good and evil.”

Star Trek Golden Anniversary Ale: Voyage To The Northeast Quadrant (5 Malts, 5 Hops, 5% ABV)
Recipe designed by 2nd Shift Supervising Brewer Ivan Dedek, Shmaltz’s second offering for Star Trek 50 harnesses a crisp, clean malt character showcased by the use of light Munich malts and brewer’s maize. The aroma is accented by fresh citrus fruits such as lemon and lime with subtle notes of white wine. The crisp malts and fruity aromas are elevated by maintaining a mild bitterness allowing each selected ingredient to offer its individual qualities without being overshadowed by any single ingredient. With 5 malts, 5 hops and 5% ABV, Voyage To The Northeast Quadrant is the perfect brew for any beer lover to toast the 50th Anniversary of such an iconic piece of popular culture.
