Bluefin Spot Lighting Mortal Kombat at C2E2

Bluefin, the leading North American distributor of toys, collectibles, and hobby merchandise from Japan and Asia, announces its participation Chicago’s premier pop culture and comics convention – Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2).

C2E2 takes place April 6th to April 8th in the South Building at McCormick Place in downtown Chicago. Bluefin will be located in Booth #227.

This year, Bluefin’s presence at the convention will be highlighted by a series of special events celebrating the venerable action property – Mortal Kombat.

Fans are invited to visit the Bluefin booth to meet actor and acclaimed martial arts phenom, Daniel Pesina, who played the original sprite characters of Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Smoke, and Noob Saibot in the world’s most popular videogame franchise, Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat II. 

A variety of Mortal Kombat collectible action figures by Storm Collectibles will also be available for purchase during C2E2 in Bluefin Booth #227. Special in-booth signings are scheduled where fans can get purchased products signed by Mr. Pesina in addition to photographs being offered at the table.

All actors will be signing items after the panel as well.

Funko Introduces 5.5″ Mortal Kombat Figures

Funko’s action figure line is continuing to grow with the introduction of their upcoming 5.5″ collection of Mortal Kombat figures. With a vintage aesthetic these 5.5″ figures include their signature weapons. This first series of figures includes Scropion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kitana and Liu Kang. Look for these in January 2018.

SDCC 2017 – Storm Collectible’s Mortal Kombat

These new Storm Collectibles Mortal Kombat figures would have been equally suited for my Bluefin post (as Bluefin distributes Storm Collectibles in the US), however their Mortal Kombat line generated a good amount of buzz during SDCC. In the gallery below you’ll see a number of figures making their debut at the show – including an impressive figure of Liu Kang’s dragon form.

Mezco Announces 3 3/4″ Motal Kombat Series 1 Available this Summer

Mezco Logo 2Mezco has revealed the newest addition to its ever-expanding Mortal Kombat X lineup: Raiden, Sub-Zero, and Scorpion Mortal Kombat X 3.75 Inch Figures.

Each 3.75 inch scale figure features 23 points of articulation, many with ball joints, allowing them recreate all the moves and poses that have made them part of gaming legend.

To ensure a game accurate likeness, correct to the finest detail, Mezco’s award-winning design team has digitally sculpted the figures using the digital files from the game developers themselves.

Series 1 includes three of the most famous fighters:

Scorpion, the hell-spawned specter. Ninjas need weapons and Scorpion has them. He comes complete with his spear tipped wrist chains, as well as 2 game accurate swords. He also has an additional pair of fighting hands.

Raiden, the eternal God of Thunder. Even a God of Thunder needs weapons so he comes complete with game accurate alternate hands, alternate lightning hands, and a lightning ball.

Sub-Zero, the icy assassin.  Of course, Sub-Zero needs the weapons he is famous for, so he comes complete with his game accurate hammer and sword.

Each  Mortal Kombat X 3.75″ figure comes with a base with the Mortal Kombat logo on top as well as on the side.

Mezco’s NYCC Exclusive Mortal Kombat Scorpion Availablefor Pre-Order 9/15

Available in a convention exclusive black and gold color scheme, this 6inch scale figure features 23 points of articulation, many with ball joints, allowing him to recreate all your favorite moves and poses from the game.

Mezco’s Mortal Kombat 12″ Sub-Zero Now Available for Pre-Order

Mezco Logo 2Sub-Zero, the icy assassin of Mortal Kombat legend, now presented as a 1:6 scale collectable figure.

This 12 inch figure from the new Mortal Kombat X game has been created utilizing digital assets supplied by the game developers to ensure game-like accurateness.

 The Sub-Zero 12 inch figure features nearly a dozen points of articulation, interchangeable hands as well as some of his most deadly weapons. He is packaged in a displayable window box.

Mezco Debuts Mortal Kombat Bobble Head and Plush

mezco_logoMezco today debuted some new additions to their upcoming Mortal Kombat product line – bobble heads and plush. The bobble heads stand 6 inches tall and feature Scorpion and Sub-Zero based on their appearances in Mortal Kombat X. The bobble heads will be available in October.

The plush line features the same characters, and stand an adorable 8 inches tall.

Mezco Developing Mortal Kombat Product Line

mezco_logoAt New York Comic Con, Mezco Toyz previewed several 6″ Mortal Kombat figures, and today they shared more details of what’s to come. With a new game set for release in Spring 2015, Mortal Kombat X, the timing’s perfect for Mezco to launch their line. Currently in development are figures in both the 3.75 inch and 6 inch scale as well as accessories, bobble heads, plush, clip-ons, keychains and more. More details will be revealed at New York Toy Fair in February and look for the toys in shelves in Spring 2015.

Toy Fair 2013 – Jazwares

TF2013 LogoJazwares 2013 showroom reflected the success they had in 2012 with this years’ product line being very similar to last years. The Hanna-Barbera line will thankfully continue, one new figure was on display but was not ready for photography and their other animation based lines (Adventure Time, nicktoons, Regular Show) are all continuing and expanding. Other lines that are continuing are their Plants vs. Zombies, Mortal Kombat, Sonic the Hedgehog, their Star Wars electronic toys, and their wide range of audio electronics. And, while these aren’t in the gallery below from my showroom tour, Jazwares will be continuing to offer 1D branded electronics.
