I promise that I’m not going to regularly write about dolls, but I thought I’d pass this information out. At the 2010 Tonner convention, there will be an event where some new Firefly products will be premiered; an Inara Serra “product” and Mal Reynolds. No pictures are available (yet) and these dolls typically run about $120-$180 each.
Sgt Slaughter Comic-con Exclusives Revealed
The fine folks over at GeekWeek got the early dish on one of Hasbro’s SDCC exclusives – Sgt. Slaughter. As reported in the toy fair coverage, there will be 2 version of the figure available at the convention. The principal version will have the Sarge with a wrestling belt, microphone and baton. The variant (presumably more limited version) has the Sarge packing a machine gun and handgun.

Reminder – Qui-gon and Eopie deadline is March 31st
Just a quick reminder- the deadline for mailing in your money and proofs of purchase for the Qui-Gon Jinn and Eopie figures is quickly approaching. Submissions must be postmarked by 3/31/10. If you need a copy of the redemption certificate, you can download one at starwars.hasbro.com. This is a pretty good set, and a steal at just $6.99; I wouldn’t let it slip by.
Iron Man 2 Toys Officially Out at Retail
As we step into a new month (hello March), let’s also welcome the offical arrival of Marvel’s Iron Man 2 figures. With the street date of March 1st behind us, you can find Iron Men and War Machines out the wazoo. So far I’m really impressed with the figures I’ve picked up. This is a line to keep your eye on!
Lego Sale @ TRU 2/28 – 3/6
This week at Toys R Us, all lego sets (except Star Wars, Toy Story and Mindstorms) are buy one get one 50% off. For legos, this is a pretty solid sale. If you have your eye on any sets, this may be the week to pick them up.
Additional details on SDCC Exclusive Sgt Slaughter
As announced at toy fair, one of the Hasbro San Diego Comic Con exclusives will be a new Sgt Slaughter figure. TNI has reported some new details on the figure. There will be two versions will be released; an all new figure in the traditional USA shirt and one based more closely on the original version issued with the Triple T tank. Additionally, Stg. Slaughter himself will be at the Hasbro booth at this years convention!

Figure Spotlight 96 – Hawkeye

As the final figure I have left to spotlight in wave 3 of the Secret Wars 2-packs; we’ll look at Marvel’s resident archer, Hawkeye.
I suppose I saved the best for last. Hawkeye is fantastic. Hasbro did a great job adding the costume elements to the figure – the rubber tunic and ’skirt’ really work on this figure. The head sculpt is fantastic, with Hawkeye flashing a cocky smirk. Only 2 complaints; Hawkeye’s bow doesn’t have a string – which I admit would be a tough bill to fill. The other is that Hawkeye came with an arrow accessory, but it’s pretty useless. I did manage to get a picture with the arrow, but I had to glue it to Hawkeye’s hand. Not the best accessory, but those two nits aside, this is a great figure!
San Diego Comic-con 2010 Exclusives Tracker is Live
Every year around this time, the exclusives planned for San Diego Comic-con start getting announced. Last year, I had a tough time keeping track of all the exclusive merchandise, so I’ve launched my own page to track the announcements.
