While celebrating our independence today, I stopped in at a local Target store and saw that all remaining GI Joe, Star Wars and Transformers toys had now been marked down 30%.   As a general rule of thumb, Target does toy markdowns on Mondays, but this varies store to store.  You’ll want to keep your eyes on Target, as this is a great chance to score some bargains before the  fall relaunch of all three lines.  Only a few weeks left until Toys R Us no longer is the only game in town for the new toys.

There’s a new coupon code for HasbroToyShop.com!  This one gets you 20% off AND free shipping.  The coupon code is FREESHIP20 which you enter at checkout.  This offer expires May 23, 2010.

This week Toys R Us has a great deal for Star Wars collectors.  All Star Wars products (legos included) are buy one get one half-off.  This is great timing as reports of the Force Unleashed TRU exclusive box sets are starting to hit.  Even more surprising, these box sets are only $29.99 each; making it only $45 for both sets (which are also available online).

Also there’s a good chance that the TRU exclusive Legacy collection EU wave may start hitting.  This is a week to keep you eyes on TRU; you might get to save some green.

While TRU seems to have the best sales this week, their stock sometimes leaves something to be desired.  Target has both Legacy and Clone Wars figures this week for $6.99 each.  Between these two stores, you should be able to get up to date pretty easy – and between the sales and the $5 off $20 coupon, you should be able to save some dough.

As Toy’s R Us preps for Easter, they’ve got a few deals going for the week of 3/28 – 4/2.  Of note:

• Lego – Buy One Set Get One 50% off – normal exclusions apply (Sorry Star Wars Legos)
• Star Wars Figures – 2 for $10.99
• Iron Man 2 Figure – 2 for $10.99

Target has a pretty good sale this week in the toy aisle.  One unadvertised special is that all Iron Man 2 figures are on sale this week for $5.99.  Combine this with the $5 off $20 Iron Man 2 purchase and get 4 figures for just around $20 + tax.

Also with coupons from PlaySaver.com grab Monopoly for $2 and Connect 4 for $3.  Even if you’re not interested, its never too early to start stockpiling for Toys-for-Tots
