HBO and Lovepop Paper Art Team Up for Game of Thrones Collection

HBO Global Licensing and Lovepop are excited to launch a series of five exclusive paper art designs in partnership with HBO, based on the international phenomenon GAME OF THRONES.

The collection, launching today – November 29, 2017 – is a series of five designs, perfect to gift to fellow fans or to collect and display. Headlining the collection, Drogon and Daenerys brings the famed character to life, hair flowing in the wind as she rides her imposing, magnificently detailed beast. The Night King and Viserion shows the Night King riding atop Viserion, complete with unforgettable, haunting eyes, teeth and horns. Euron’s Ship is meticulously constructed from paper as only trained ship designers could build it, the Iron Throne is as intimidating as it is on the screen, and the Weirwood, recreated in classic Lovepop Slicegami™ style, is the perfect gift for any fan of the show.

Cryptozoic and Warner Bros. Consumer Products Announce Release of DC Deck-Building Game: Confrontations

Cryptozoic Entertainment, leading creator of board games, trading cards, and collectibles, and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment, today announced the November 29 release of DC Deck-Building Game: Confrontations. In the 2-4 player team vs. team game, each player selects a DC Super Hero (Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, or Zatanna) or DC Super-Villain (Lex Luthor, Circe, Ocean Master, or Felix Faust) and joins another player on his or her team for a clash against two opponents. The game uses Cryptozoic’s popular Cerberus Engine, which has players build up their decks with the goal of defeating one of their opponents. The new keyword “Assist” on many cards allows a player to lend some help to his or her teammate. Though standalone, the game can be combined with any of the variations of the DC Deck-Building Game to create an even larger experience.

“While best played as a 2v2, there are 2- and 3-player variant rules,” said Lead Game Designer Matt Hyra. “Players are going to love the competitive nature of trying to take down the biggest names in the DC Universe, no matter how many players are at the table.”
 
In the game, each player’s DC Super Hero or DC Super-Villain has three unique versions—when one is knocked down by the opposing team, the player replaces it with the next one, which has boosted abilities and is even more difficult to take down. In order to defeat their opponents, players have to work together, taking advantage of cards with the keyword “Assist,” which allows a card to be played during a teammate’s turn and gives that teammate all the benefits.
 
DC Deck-Building Game: Confrontations will be available at retailers nationwide November 29 for a suggested retail price of $40.

Water Tower Music Releasing Batman & Harely Quinn and Batman Vs. Two-Face Scores

Water Tower Music announced today the October 6 release of two titles: Batman and Harley Quinn: Music From The DC Universe Original Movie AND Batman Vs. Two-Face: Music From The DC Animated Movie. The albums feature the movie’s original score by Dynamic Music Partners (DMP), a team of 3 composers who previously scored Batman Beyond. The soundtracks will be available at all digital music providers and on CD exclusively at FYE stores.
 
“We’re thrilled that WaterTower Music is releasing soundtracks for two of our current projects: Batman & Harley Quinn and Batman vs. Two-Face!” explained the three Emmy Award-winning composers Michael McCuistion, Lolita Ritmanis and Kristopher Carter, collectively known as Dynamic Music Partners.   “The “Batman vs. Two-Face” score gave us one final opportunity to honor the late Adam West as Batman, with all the Bams! Zings! and Pows! made famous by the original television series music written by musical icons Neil Hefti and Nelson Riddle. Collaboration with producer James Tucker always brings us great creative freedom!
 
“With “Harley Quinn,” we returned to the musical world of “Batman: The Animated Series,” which was our first collaboration with Bruce Timm as part of Shirley Walker’s team,” they continued.  “Along with recreating that Dark Deco mood, we also paid homage to some of the greatest jazz scores of the 70’s and 80’s. Our long creative history with Bruce usually allows for a musical and dramatic shorthand while discussing the score; this particular project, with its comedic twists and turns, really kept us on our toes!
“We worked with our key music team on the scores (engineers Mark Mattson and Mako Sujishi, woodwind player John Yoakum, Greg Herzenach on guitars, Andris Mattson playing trumpet on “Two-Face,” and trumpet legend Wayne Bergeron on “Harley”) to take the listener on journeys that are simultaneously familiar and fresh for fans who will undoubtedly appreciate these distinct takes on the Batman universe.

Previews Offers Exclusive Icon Heroes Wonder Woman Collectibles

The Princess of Themyscira arrives in comic shops near you with a new collection as Diamond and Icon Heroes present three PREVIEWS Exclusive (PX) Wonder Woman Collectibles.

Fans of the film will be impressed with the intricate detail used to mold and hand-paint the 8” tall statue and 7” tall bust of Gal Gadot in her Amazonian warrior armor. To accompany these items, and to help fans battle against hard-to- open mail, a 7” long golden sword letter opener based of Diana’s weapon in the film will also be available.

Havaianas Launches Collaboration With Marvel

Havaianas sent over some details of a new collection that launched today. This new collection is the result of a collaboration between Marvel and Havaianas which put some of the most iconic heroes of the Marvel universe on flip flops.

This limited edition collection is Marvel’s first official flip-flop collaboration and includes six unique men’s, women’s and kids’ styles. Some of pop-culture’s greatest  super heroes, including Captain America, Spider-Man and Iron Man, are highlighted in bright Havaianas colorways and designs as part of the collection.

QMx Launching Fine Art Print Series With Batman: Born of Blood Print

Our friends at QMx sent over details of the first release in their Master Series fine art program. This first release, which commemorates the day the caped crusader first appeared on comic book stands (March 30, 1939), is the Batman: Born of Blood art print, created by pop culture illustrator Doaly.

Capturing the turmoil of the Dark Knight’s tragic origins, the limited-edition lithograph is printed on heavy, museum-grade metallic paper stock and embellished with an embossed QMx logo for authenticity and added exclusivity.

The Batman: Born of Blood art print measures 24” x 36” and is limited to a hand-numbered edition of 500. Priced at $49.95, it will be available directly from qmxonline.com and select retailers. This print will be on sale Tuesday, April 11th at 12pm PT, with rolled copies shipping during the first half of May in sturdy, acid-free tubes.

ATARI and IDW Games Partner for Classic Atari Tabletop Games

Atari®, one of the world’s most recognized publishers and producers of interactive entertainment, and IDW Games, announced today that they have entered into a partnership to produce a line of tabletop games based on several classic Atari videogame titles. Centipede®, Asteroids®, and Missile Command® are all headed to the tabletop by way of Jon Gilmour, co-designer of Dead of Winter, and his hand-picked crew of up-and-coming co-developers.

Set to capture the feel of these classic titles, the Atari line of board games are fun, intense and fast-paced. While each game in the series will play differently from the others, they will all have you nostalgic for the days of being hunched over a CRT in a dark arcade with your eyes on the prize: top of the high-score chart.
