Entertainment Earth Announces Second SDCC Exclusive: Deadpool Push Puppet

Entertainment Earth has announced their second SDCC exclusive for 2017, the Deadpool Push Puppet. This release takes everyone’s favorite merc with a mouth and releases him in a classic retro style. 

Crafted of solid wood, painted with vivid artwork and decals, this 5-inch scale puppet is entertaining on so many levels. Find the hidden button on the bottom of the stand and you loosen the bindings, making the wooden puppet go limp, tense, and dance as you see fit! This retro-style puppet mixes aesthetics almost as well as Deadpool himself does: it’s cute, yet it’s dangerous looking. Funko’s Sixth Series of WWE Pop!s Hitting This Summer

Funko is set to release the sixth series of WWE Pop!s this summer. This series features Chris Jericho, the Million Dollar Man, Sasha Banks and the Iron Sheik. There are 1-in-6 chase varaiant of both the Million Dollar Man and the Iron Sheik which will also be out in the wild to find.

First Transformers Digital AR/VR Experience Launched In Shanghai

In collaboration with Hasbro, Dan Mintz’s DMG Entertainment is launching highly-immersive, interactive Transformers digital simulation experience centers. Featuring up-close and personal character interactions, highly immersive virtual and augmented reality technology, interactive environments and activities featuring the latest digital technologies, guests will experience the Transformers universe like never before. Debuting in Shanghai this summer, the centers will expand to other China cities regularly over the next five years and be designed with the global audience in mind.

Born from the massively popular multi-billion dollar franchise, the Transformers centers put participants right in the middle of the action, allowing them to immerse themselves side by side with the characters and engage in a variety of missions. Imagine battling against the evil Decepticons on Cybertron alongside Optimus Prime, or climbing behind the wheel of Bumblebee for the ultimate driving experience. Guests of all ages can unleash their inner hero in this immersive, next-generation adventure, right alongside their favorite Transformers characters.

HASCON Event Details Shared, Tickets Now On Sale

McFarlane Toys Picks Up Star Trek License

McFarlane Toys has signed a toy license deal with CBS Consumer Products to create figures, role play weapons and accessories for the new Star Trek: Discovery television series. In addition, McFarlane Toys will also create merchandise from the entire Star Trek universe, ranging from the iconic classic television series Star Trek: The Original Series to the legendary films.

The initial line will highlight two of the most iconic characters in the Star Trek universe with articulated 7-inch figures of U.S.S. Enterprise Captain James T. Kirk from Star Trek: The Original Series and U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D Captain Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation. These figures will debut in window box collector packaging and feature iconic accessories such as phasers and communicators.  Various characters from the highly-anticipated Star Trek: Discovery television series and other adaptations will follow.

DC Collectibles Reveals New 2018 ‘DC Artist Alley’ Line At Five Points Festival

Designer super hero toys — meet street art. Announced over the weekend via an exclusive reveal at designer toy and comic convention, Five Points Festival, DC Collectibles is teaming up with some of the most talented independent artists in the industry to launch the new line, DC Artist Alley.

Inspired by the popular comic convention experience, DC Artist Alley will serve as an artist-focused vinyl statue line that merges indie design with the most iconic characters in the DC Universe. Serving up highly detailed, limited edition PVC figures, the first wave of releases will launch in 2018 and will feature a reimaging of seven classic characters – three from each artist, with more artists to follow.

“The motivation to create a line celebrating radical new artists stems from years of visiting cons and being impressed by the raw talent and artwork on display,” says Jim Fletcher, Executive Creative Director, DC Collectibles. “When we decided to launch DC Artist Alley, we approached visionaries we felt would best represent the line, while bringing their own creative signature to our classic characters.”

Designs will include illustrator Chris Uminga’s offbeat interpretations of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, Barcelonian-bred artist, Sho Murase’s stylish designs for Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn, and HaiNaNu “Nooligan” Saulque’s exaggerated designs on The Joker, Batman and Harley Quinn. Funko’s Justice League Pop!s Hitting In August

A few of DC’s heroes are getting together this fall on the big screen for the debut of the Justice Leauge. The release of the movie will be accompanied by a series of Pop!s that include Batman, Aquaman, Cyborg, the Flash, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Look for these Pop!s to be available this August.

Living Dead Dolls Presents The Exorcist

The Exorcist burst onto the cinematic scene in 1973 and quickly cemented its place in film history as the 1st horror film nominated for an Academy Award.  The film tells the terrifying story of the demonic possession of a young girl and her Mother’s attempts to win back her child through an exorcism conducted by two priests.

McFarlane Toys Creating Characters from Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal

The Jim Henson Company has partnered with McFarlane Toys, which will harken back to its roots of “Movie Maniacs” to create figures of classic characters from two of Henson’s most well-known features Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal.

Directed by visionary Jim Henson and executive produced by George Lucas, Labyrinth is a fanboy favorite and wonder of puppetry. Stuck babysitting her brother, teenager Sarah, resentfully wishes The Goblin King (memorably portrayed by David Bowie) can take him away. When her wish comes true, Sarah must head into the Labyrinth herself to save him. Since its 1986 release the film has garnered a cult popularity and is still reveled in today’s era as a timeless classic.

The Dark Crystal, directed by Jim Henson and Frank Oz, brilliantly weaves a timeless myth of good and evil. In another time, The Dark Crystal, a source of balance and truth in the universe, was broken, dividing the world into two factions; the wicked Skeksis and the peaceful Mystics. Now, as the convergence of the three suns approaches, the crystal must be healed, or darkness will reign forever. The Dark Crystal’s fanbase has only risen since the film’s debut and has also developed a cult following of fans across the world.
