Lego Minifigs series 2 relased in US? Possible UPC decoder…

August 20th, 2010 MattG Posted in Lego, News No Comments »

While many people haven’t had the chance to complete the first series of Lego mini-figs; there’s signs that the 2nd series is starting to hit in the US.  There’s a few reports on flickr, of all places, of people finding the figures.  Flickr member SavatheAggie has posted a UPC guide for the North American release, which you can see after the jump.  None of these UPC have been validated by AwesomeToyBlog as I haven’t seen these myself.  Time to get myself to the Lego store and the area Toys R Us.

Also, Entertainment Earth still has open pre-orders for a set of 10 Series 2 figures ($29.99) or a Series 2 display box ($164.99) if you want to avoid the hunt.

New image of Lego Minifigures Series 2

August 10th, 2010 MattG Posted in Lego, News No Comments »

I’m psyched for the 2nd series of Lego Minifigures to be released (Disco Dude!  Gladiator! Witch!), so I thought I’d share the newest picture available.  This time the figures will be packaged in blue bags; easy to distinguish from the bright yellow of series 1.  If you’re interested in these figures, but not interested in the hunt; head over to Entertainment Earth and place a pre-order for a set of 10, or a box.  Continue on after the jump to see the new image of these figures.

Lego Mini-figs found in Phoenix & US Decoder

May 24th, 2010 MattG Posted in Lego, News No Comments »

Over the weekend, I reported that Lego Minifig series one have started hitting Toys R Us.  Well in the Phoenix area they came and went, quickly.  However, the figures made their debut today at the Lego Store in Chandler AZ.  They had tons of them, and were limiting to 5 per person.  If your city is blessed with a Lego store, be sure to check it out.

Our twitter friends over at OAFE have started putting together a US identification guide.  Match the barcode on the guide to the non-UPC barcode on the back of the baggie to identify which figure you’ve got.  Or just pick one out and enjoy it.  Check out their guide here.

Lego Minifigs Hitting Retail & Euro UPC Guide Fail?

May 22nd, 2010 MattG Posted in Lego, News No Comments »

Reports are hitting the internet that Lego’s first series of collectible mini-figures are hitting retail.  So far they’ve mostly been found in Toys R Us’s in the middle of the country…so keep your eyes peeled (or order them online, as they’re likely to come in stock soon).  A few weeks ago, I shared with you the news that the minifigs weren’t so blind-packed with the barcode on the back identifying the figure.  This is still the case, but it looks like the specific barcodes being used for the figures are different between the US and Europe.  As soon as a US guide is available, I’ll be sure to post that.
