Kotobukiya was kind enough to send out a new batch of images for their latest Bishoujo statue, Joker’s one and only gal-pal, Harley Quinn. This Bishoujo statue is 10 inches tall, sculpted at 1/7 scale, and features her on a hammer base. I guess that it’s also app night here on AwesomeToyBlog, as I also wanted to pass on the news that Lego has their DC Super Heroes Movie Maker app now available on iTunes for free. This app lets you create a LEGO stop motion movie on your iPhone. It features simple tools and guides allowing you to shoot, edit, score your movie and save it to your phone to share. Check out the trailer below, or just go to iTunes and download the app – its free, so you’ve got nothing to lose!

It a bit of re-branding news from C2E2 – DC Direct is dead!  Well, not really, DC Direct is re-launched into the brand DC Collectibles. Kotobukiya sent out a press release today announcing their upcoming ArtFx statue from Frank Miller’s ‘Dark Knight Return’. This statue features Batman kneeling over the Joker, prepared to lay his final blow on his nemesis as the Joker laughs away maniacally. This 1/6th statue is set to be released September 2012 and has a suggested price of $129.99.  Check out images of the statue below, and read the full press release after the jump.  It looks like another awesome Kotobukiya ArtFx statue – can’t wait to see it in person at SDCC.

Mezco had a diverse set off offerings on display at this year’s New York Toy Fair. Kicking off with their DC Universe offerings a range of Mez-itz and mini Mez-itz were on display from both ‘the Dark Knight’ and ‘the Dark Knight Rises’ – including the movie Batmobile and the Batpod. The larger DC Universe were represented in their Mez-itz lines including Superman, Darkseid, the Flash, Wonder Woman and other DC icons.

In 2012 Mezco is expanding their Thundercats Mega deluxe scale figures with both a Mumm-Ra and Panthro joining Lion-O on shelves.

New liscenses for Mezco include an Earthworm Jim figure, Mars Attacks figures (in 2 scales), Spongebob Squarepants and the Universal Monsters.

Living Dead Dolls continue to have a strong presence at Mezco, which featured Dracula, Frankenstein and an incredible Chuckie Living Dead Doll prominantly in their display. Series 23 and several other LVD were on display, check the gallery for all the details.

Also on display were several Domo figures and bobbleheads, Zombie Creepy Cuddlers plush, South Park figures, and Little Big Planet figures. Check out images of everything on display in the gallery below.

Kotobukiya’s toy fair display showcased their product offerings across their ArtFx statues, fine art statues, Bishoujo statues and ice trays. Some of the stand-out new product in their booth included a Batman – The Dark Knight Rises fine art statue, a prototype ‘New 52′ Superman ArtFX+ statue (the entire Justice League is on the way), new Star Wars and Aliens ice trays, an amazing Elvis figure, a phenomenal Tekken statue, and tons more. I’ll admit, in the past year I’ve become completely enamored with Funko Toys’ offerings – particularly the Pop! vinyl line. I’m pleased to say that, if you liked Funko in 2011, you’re going to love them in 2012. Pop Vinyl! will continue strong featuring figures from ‘The Dark Night Rises’, more horror figures (Pop! Leatherface), more Star Wars (Jabba!), more Disney, Ugly Dolls (complete with glow-in-the-dark chase figures) and more. Adding to the Pop Vinyl! family will be mini-Pop! vinyl figures, Hello Kitty, Hello Kitty as KISS and Muppets. Yes, Muppets.

Blox, their newest stylized vinyl figures, also continue and introduce a new smaller scale. Of note the Star Wars Blox and the mini Batman and Joker sets. A new style of figures were also debuted – figures with cupcake heads where you can store the body in the head. It’ll make sense once you see the picture; very cool and fun little toys.

Funko has also secured the rights to produce product based on ‘Lord of the Rings’ and they’ve made the cutest Smeagol plush you’ll ever see.

Mimoco essentially invented the designer USB flash driver, carving out a nice niche for themselves.  Today they unveiled their Mimomicro line – a smaller drive that can be used as a USB flash drive, or as a microSD card reader.  The Mimomicro drive – smaller than 2″ H by 1″W features a flip-out USB plug, a built-in keychain and an LED light. Launching in March of this year, initial offerings will include Star Wars (Darth Vader,Yoda, C-3PO, Chewbacca, the Millennium Falcon) and DC Comics (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman).  along with characters from DC Comics including Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. The word for Funko is that their latest ‘urban vinyl inspired’ line – Blox- are now available at retail.  Blox are essentially 2D stylized artwork projected into three dimensions.  The initial Blox offerings include figures from the DC Universe (Batman and the Joker), KISS, the monster cereal characters and the Simpsons (Homer and Krusty).  Future properties inclued Other properties e Ugly Dolls, Marvel, Mars Attacks, Star Wars, and Michael Jackson.  Blox figures are available at Entertainment Earth, and other retailers.
