Sideshow previews Faith statue

May 31st, 2011 MattG Posted in Buffy, News No Comments »

Few blogging tasks make me happier than writing about new Buffy the Vampire Slayer merchandise.  Sideshow Toys have posted a preview of their new Faith statue – a companion piece to their Throne of the Slayer and Willow statues.  You can check all the preview images here, on Sideshow Toys.  Preorders for this piece open up Thursday, June 2nd and the piece is priced at $249.99.  An exclusive edition will be available where you can swap out the crossbow arm with one holding Faith’s knife.  This is a great looking item, and one that I know that I’ll be opening my wallet for.

Figure of the Day 14 – Graduation Day Buffy Summers

July 25th, 2009 MattG Posted in Buffy, Figure of the Day No Comments »

Buffy Summers (Graduation Day)

Series: Sideshow Toys’ Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Release Date: 2005
Comments: There have been many Buffy figures in many different scales, but Sideshows’ 12″ offerings are among the strongest. For the first Buffy feature, I’ve chosen the Chosen One herself, Miss Buffy Anne Summers. This release was Sideshow’s second stab at the slayer. The first 12″ Buffy was a solid figure, but the sculpt, outfit and odd skin tone made that figure fall a little short of excellent.  Here in her Graduation Day outfit, the shortcomings of the first figure are gone.  She is rocking a great head sculpt, with a likeness much closer to Sarah Michelle Gellar.  I can’t say anything bad about this one, of all the Sideshow Buffy releases this is my favorite, followed closely by the first Angel figure they issued.  A “close-up” shot of Miss Summers is after the jump, just because she’s that great.
